About Fairlie

 - Trauma informed Psychotherapist -

 - Experienced integrative Counsellor -

I can help you regulate your emotions and feel better in life

I draw on a wide range of experiences, tailoring counselling sessions to meet your needs.

I provide traditional talking therapy, combined with other counselling methods where appropriate. These include art and creativity, nature connection and mindfulness, somatic body work, inner parts work and psychological understanding for wellbeing.

Compassion is at the heart of my counselling work, and I will welcome you to the session with warmth  and acceptance.

I am currently training to become an Internal Family Systems Practitioner, and when appropriate will use this to inform the work which helps you to build a better understanding of your own internal landscape.  I have found that both as a client and as a Therapist it has been consistently helpful to identify and give voice to the inner parts of yourself. IFS is a gentle yet powerful technique that helps to heal from old patterns, develop lifelong bonds within your system. The method will help to empower you, find healing and unhook from old beliefs and patterns.

Underpinned by the 3 core conditions of counselling (Empathy, Congruence and Unconditional Positive Regard) I offer a safe and welcoming space for us to work at a pace that feels manageable to you.

I am inspired by nature which has helped me throughout my life to feel connected and safe in the world, providing a deep understanding of way all things are connected - including us!

I live in the verdant Norfolk countryside, growing vegetables, caring for a small orchard and taking time out to enjoy the beautiful Waveney River.

Personal context: a bit of background

I have diplomas in both Counselling and in Psychotherapy from Tariki Trust where I also studied Buddhist Psychology, Ecotherapy and Creative Counselling methods for over 6 years.

I am currently training as an Internal Family Systems Practitioner with the IFS Institute.

My therapeutic work is holistic and draws on a wide range of tools that include traditional talking therapy, creative methods, outdoor therapy, inner parts work, Focusing body work, psychological education and meditative techniques, all underpinned by a core commitment to compassion to build a kinder and more connected world for everyone.

With this guiding principle for life, I have found that counselling, therapeutic teaching, group work and meditation to be the most effective method for fulfilling these ideals.

I am also an Ecotherapy Tutor with Tariki Trust and have a Meditation teacher diploma. I run classes, workshops and training courses in these life skills and techniques.

As a fully qualified and registered member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) I comply with their rigorous ethical framework, attend regular professional Clinical Supervision and am committed to ongoing professional development.

I am aware of my own personal and professional limitations and have attended over 60 hours of my own counselling.
