Compassion is at the heart of my counselling work, and I will welcome you to your sessions with warmth, accepting you as you are. Together we will explore what is happening for you and I will help you understand and regulate your emotions so that you can find a happier and more harmonious sense of Self.

I will tailor your counselling sessions to meet your needs, drawing on methods and tools that suit you.

I provide traditional talking therapy, combined with other counselling methods as and when they are appropriate. These include Internal Family Systems therapy, art and creativity, sandtray, nature connection and mindfulness, somatic work, and psychological understanding for wellbeing.

I am a trained Internal Family Systems Therapist, and when appropriate will use this to help you explore what is concerning you

IFS is a gentle yet powerful technique that helps you to heal from old patterns, and develop inner bonds that will empower you, and make healing possible.

Underpinned by the 3 core conditions of counselling (Empathy, Congruence and Unconditional Positive Regard) I offer a safe and welcoming space for us to work at a pace that feels manageable to you.

I am inspired by nature which has helped me throughout my life to feel connected and safe in the world, providing a deep understanding of way all things are connected - including us!

I live in the Waveney Valley (just over the border in Norfolk), growing vegetables, caring for a small orchard and taking time out to enjoy the beautiful Waveney river.

Personal context: a bit of background

I have diplomas in both Counselling and in Psychotherapy from Tariki Trust where I also studied Buddhist Psychology, Ecotherapy and Creative Counselling methods for over 6 years.

I have recently completed the Internal Family Systems Level 1 Practitioner training with IFS UK, a method that I am passionate in bringing to more people through 1-1 therapy and group work.

My therapeutic work is holistic and draws on a wide range of tools that include traditional talking therapy, creative methods, outdoor therapy, inner parts work, Focusing body work, psychological education and meditative techniques, all underpinned by a core commitment to compassion to build a kinder and more connected world for everyone.

With this guiding principle for life, I have found that counselling, therapeutic teaching, group work and meditation to be the most effective method for fulfilling these ideals.

I am also an Ecotherapy Tutor with Tariki Trust and have a Meditation teacher diploma. I run classes, workshops and training courses in these life skills and techniques.

As a fully qualified and registered member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) I comply with their rigorous ethical framework, attend regular professional Clinical Supervision and am committed to ongoing professional development.

I am aware of my own personal and professional limitations and have attended over 60 hours of my own counselling.
