Booking a Counselling appointment
If you want to find out more before booking an appointment, I can offer up to 15 minutes free telephone call where I can answer any questions you may have.
Making that initial contact can feel like a huge hurdle. If you feel that, please let me assure you that you are not alone. In fact, many people say that first step is the most difficult!
Once you've taken that step, I will support you in any way that I can to get started or even just give it a try as a one off to see if its for you.
We can confirm each future session at the end of the previous one, and I ask that payment is always made promptly (via BACS (bank transfer) in advance or by cash or cheque at each appointment).
We will take a few minutes at the end of your first session to review how it has worked for you and to clarify whether we both feel we can continue the work together.
Counselling is a collaborative venture!
Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to book an appointment or call the number below.
Once you've decided to book I will email you a Counselling agreement with more details.
I usually recommend committing to 6 sessions as a reasonable amount of time to achieve therapeutic change and address any immediate issues.
After that we can work together on an open ended basis or rebook a further set of 6 sessions.
Whatever your choice, you are free to end counselling any time, but it's a good idea to have at least one session to consciously work toward an ending, review your counselling journey and note any positive changes you notice. This gives you some closure and most clients have said they find this beneficial.
Cancellations and missed appointments
If you cant attend an appointment, please let me know as soon as possible.
I can waive the fee when at least 24 hours notice is given via phone or text. however less than that, the fee will be charged.
For cancellations please contact me by phone or text message on 07999 002 845. Unfortunately I cannot accept late cancellations by email.
Chance meetings in public
If we come across one another outside the counselling session, I would normally say a brief and friendly hello unless you request otherwise. This is entirely up to you, so please let me know what you are most comfortable with.
Timings and fees
Sessions are 50 minutes.
We will meet weekly unless otherwise discussed; fortnightly is also possible.
Each session will be confirmed at the end of the previous one. I am available daytimes and some evenings.
Individual Counselling costs £40 per session, whilst a block of 6 sessions booked in advance is £200. This is non refundable.
If you are on a low income, we can discuss rates as I have some concessionary slots in order to make counselling as widely accessible as possible.
Equally, if you would like to support others on low income to access counselling then please feel free to make a financial contribution either as a one off or by paying a little more for your sessions.
Please make your payments via BACS (Bank transfer) in advance unless otherwise agreed (cash or cheque may also be possible in certain circumstances).
